Education:
M.Ed., Boston University
B.S., Bridgewater State College

Philosophy:
I strive to create learning environments and activities that enable active participants to not only learn content, but also, to learn how to, and how they best, learn.

At a commencement speech for Gallaudet University, Jesse Jackson said, "The problem is not that deaf students do not hear. The problem is that hearing people do not listen."  I guess, above all, I hope my teaching inspires students to develop their own life-long commitment to learning something they love, ensures that they don't use knowledge gained in my classes to (unintentionally) harm Deaf people and challenges their assumptions so they can listen.
