Support Services for eLearning
Students taking classes, certificate or degree programs online have access to the same student support services as those students taking traditional face-to-face classes.
- Library Resources
- Tutoring and Academic Support
- Disability Support Services
- Technical Support
Students can access BCC’s online catalog, reference databases and research guides, contact a librarian via phone or email, or have books and media from the BCC library delivered to their local public library. For more information on the resources the library has to offer eLearning students or to contact the library visit the eLearning Library Resources page.
The Tutoring and Academic Support Center (TASC) provides one-on-one tutoring services, study groups, and additional supplemental resources to assist you with class related questions.
If you would like to speak with someone regarding disability services and accommodations in the online classroom contact Disability Services (ODS).
Not sure if eLearning is for you? This document will provide you with some questions to consider before you register.
Assistive Technology Lab
The college does have an assistive technology lab that is available to students with disabilities. Please contact Disability Services (ODS) to learn about what services are available and to learn more about the AT lab.
There are a variety of accessibility options available on the Mac and PC platforms. These options allow students to set up their personal computers to enable speech recognition, text-to-speech conversation and screen magnification.
Students taking online classes can purchase their books at the BCC Bookstore. Books can be purchased in-person or ordered online. Students can have their books shipped or can pick them up at the campus location.
