English for speakers of other languages (ESOL)
This program is designed to help individuals with limited English proficiency achieve competence in the English language.
There are three levels of instruction available for anyone with limited English language skills:
The beginner level concentrates on developing speaking and listening skills as well as vocabulary building.
The intermediate and advanced levels continue to refine speaking and listening skills, and develop reading comprehension and writing skills.
Classes begin each summer, fall and spring semester.
Students who successfully complete the advanced level ESOL class are eligible to apply to BCC’s Adult Basic Education program to study for their GED.
