OneBook author Nathaniel Philbrick visits Bristol Community College on Friday, October 4
OneBook author Nathaniel Philbrick will speak at Bristol Community College on Friday, October 4, at 11 a.m., in the H - Building auditorium on the BCC Fall River Campus, in connection with BCC's current OneBook – In the Heart of the Sea: The Tragedy of the Whaleship Essex.
Please view Nathaniel Philbrick’s web site http://nathanielphilbrick.com for his accomplishments, which include the National Book Award for nonfiction for In the Heart of the Sea. In addition, Mr. Philbrick’s book Mayflower was a finalist for both the 2007 Pulitzer Prize in History and the Los Angeles Times Book Award and was the winner of the Massachusetts Book Award for nonfiction.
BCC's OneBook brings faculty, staff, and students together across disciplines to read the same book and participate in a wide array of campus events related to that book. Classes examine the connections a story can make to us all and help link the College community through this common project.
