The MassTransfer Block
MassTransfer guarantees that any student in the Massachusetts public higher education system who completes the MassTransfer Block will automatically satisfy the general education/distribution/core requirements at any other public higher education institution (with the receiving institution able to add no more than six additional credits or two courses).
The MassTransfer Block refers to a set of general education, core, or distribution requirements consisting of the 34 college-level credits listed below.
Students graduating with a degree in Business Administration Transfer, Communication Transfer, Criminal Justice Transfer, Deaf Studies Transfer, Early Childhood Transfer, Elementary Education, Environmental Science, General Studies-MassTransfer Option, Human Services, or Liberal Arts automatically meet the MassTransfer Block. Students who choose to transfer before graduating or students in other programs can meet the block by completing the courses below:

|3||Mathematics/Quantitative Reasoning||All MTH courses (except MTH 011, 021, 031, 111 and 151)|
These credits, when completed together with a 2.0 or higher GPA , fully transfer to any Massachusetts public higher education institution…even if the associate’s degree is not completed. These credits also satisfy the general education /distribution/core requirements at any other Massachusetts public higher education institution, with the receiving institution being able to add no more than six additional credits/two courses.
