Power Hour

BCC Workforce Power Hour ImageThe Bristol Community College Center for Workforce and Community Education works with regional companies and community members to provide training tailored specifically to the area’s needs. Now, BCC’s Workforce Center wants to provide a taste of what to expect with their new professional guest speaker series: Power Hour.

Power Hour features local business men and women who have attended BCC, worked with BCC in the past, or have knowledge to share about different topics offered at the Center. These one-hour seminars are free and open to the public. Providing a glimpse into relevant topics like health care and leadership, Power Hour is a convenient option for busy professionals. Becoming a Leader
When: Tuesday, May 16 | 5:30-6:30 p.m.

Speaker: Scott Lopes

Scott Lopes, a BCC alum, is a shining example of how an education at BCC can be the start to a great career. In this one hour conversation, Scott will highlight how his leadership and management style has developed since he started in his profession. Scott, currently the Training and Development Officer for BayCoast Bank, will share insight into what he feels are the keys to his success.

Dementia Friendly Community
When: Tuesday, June 20 | 5:30-6:30 p.m.
Where: The Center for Workforce and Community Education, 1082 Davol Street, Fall River, MA, 02720.
Speaker: Judy Andrade, LPN, CDP, Certified Nurse Instructor at BCC

In this one hour workshop, Judy Andrade will share how Fall River is becoming a Dementia Friendly Community that enhances the quality of life and positive outcomes for people living with dementia and their care partners. She will use her experience and training to share best practices for caring for someone with dementia, and how best to manage the additional demands placed on family members and care partners. 

Success in Real Estate
When: Tuesday, July 18 | 5:30-6:30 p.m.

Speakers: Dawn and Ron Rusin, Fall River real estate brokers
